The summer of 2023 marked Pinnacle Event Logistics’ debut in project management for touring events in Australia, with the high-energy production Madagascar the Musical.
Working with our London-based client, we managed the full logistics, exporting the show from New Zealand in four 40ft containers. Upon arrival, our team handled AQIS biosecurity checks and Australian Border Force clearance to ensure a smooth start.
But this was more than a simple delivery.
We travelled to Australia to oversee the cross-loading of freight from shipping containers into domestic units—ready for an ambitious Aussie road trip from east to west.
The show kicked off at the Coliseum Theatre in Sydney, then moved to the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne. The biggest challenge? A 3,400km sprint across the Nullarbor to Perth’s Crown Theatre—in just 72 hours.
We used two road trains, each hauling two 40ft containers, to move the entire show efficiently across the continent.
Even during the Christmas and New Year period, our commitment never wavered. A Pinnacle team member was present at every load-in and load-out, keeping things on track.
100% on-time
100% on-budget
Zero drama (except on stage)
This successful tour marks a major milestone for us—proving our capability to manage complex, cross-border logistics precisely, and we are excited to bring this same energy and expertise to more touring events across Australia and beyond.
Were we sad to see the show go? Yes. We just had to smile and wave, Boys, smile and wave.
